First construction phase, February 2024
In 2023, my husband and I had the vague idea of creating a home in Thailand, my birth country. Things magically fell into place from then on, from finding the region, community, plot of land and people, to meeting the right architect and building team, and being able to finance the project.
Together with local architect Peerapong Promchart of Housescape Design Lab we designed the house. Over the following two winters spent there, we have almost completed building our deluxe bungalow, as well as a woodworking studio and initial landscaping of the 1.5 hectare area.
This has been the most fulfilling project and process ever for me, and I look forward to bringing more and more of our whimsical ideas to life there.
